You can place your webcam as a full sized object in one of the two halves and still get a full 1080p video of whatever you were recording along with the webcam (a lets play video for example). You need to have two paths because If the two OBS Start the same time the 2 files name will be the same. You can do that without steps : 2,3,4,7 Just open OBS twice, but these way the 2 videos will start the same time and sync them will not take any work. Just experiment and learn what your machine is capable of. If you've got a more modern CPU or an i7 of any kind I would imagine you'll be okay. Recently I tried Wolfenstein New Order and this became unplayable, OBS wasn't happy and the stream and record all suffered for it. I've tried CS:GO but for that I disabled multicore rendering on the in-game settings. I've tried FTL, that works fine with no adjustment. I can stream and record some PC games from the same machine but this depends on the title and whether it's heavily CPU intensive. I suspect the same will apply on my HDPVR2 but I haven't tested this since getting the Elgato.

If I'm streaming from a console on my Elgato HD60 pro this isn't a problem at all.

My streaming is always at 720p / 2500Kbps and for recording a CRF of 18. I can get away with recording and streaming simultaneously on my old rig (i5 760) but under particular circumstances it seems.
